"Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace!" (Luke 19:42)

As he approaches the city Jesus weeps over Jerusalem, foreseeing its destruction because it did not recognize the time of God's visitation. He then enters the temple and drives out those selling there, declaring that God's house is to be a house of prayer.
