"They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, 'Peace, peace,' when there is no peace." (Jeremiah 8:11)

The LORD marvels that his people cling to deceit and refuse to turn back, unlike the birds that keep their appointed seasons. He condemns the wise, the scribes, and the prophets who deal falsely and dress the wound of the people with empty promises of peace.
