"Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son." (Hebrews 1:1-2)
The letter opens by declaring that God's final word comes through the Son who sustains all things, then shows that this exalted Son was made lower than the angels for a time so that through suffering he might bring many to glory as their brother.
