"Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." (Mark 10:9)
When Pharisees test Jesus about divorce, he points back to creation, that God made them male and female and the two become one flesh, so that what God has joined no one should separate. He then welcomes the children brought to him, rebuking those who would turn them away and teaching that the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
