“This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!” (Luke 9:35)
Jesus takes Peter, John, and James up a mountain to pray, where his face and clothing become dazzling white and Moses and Elijah appear speaking with him about his coming departure at Jerusalem. A cloud overshadows them and God's voice names Jesus as his beloved, chosen Son, commanding the disciples to listen to him.
