God Judges the Gods

"Rise up, O God, judge the earth; for all the nations belong to you!" (Psalm 82:8)
God stands in the divine council and indicts the 'gods' (unjust rulers and judges) for failing to defend the weak and the orphan. The psalm closes with a plea for God himself to judge the whole earth with justice.
