Overview & Insights

“Everyone who hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house…” (Luke 6:47-48)

Jesus closes the Sermon on the Plain with parables and warnings: a blind guide cannot lead the blind, a disciple must first remove the log from his own eye, and a tree is known by its fruit. He ends by comparing those who hear and obey his words to a wise builder whose house withstands the flood.
