"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." (Romans 8:14)

Paul contrasts life in the flesh with life in the Spirit, whose indwelling makes believers children and heirs of God. The alternate, 1 Corinthians 12:3b-7, 12-13, teaches that the same Spirit gives a variety of gifts to a body that remains one, the classic Pentecost text on Spirit-given diversity within unity.
