"We must obey God rather than any human authority." (Acts 5:29)

Hauled before the Sanhedrin a second time for preaching in Jesus's name, Peter and the apostles answer the high priest's charge by declaring that God raised the Jesus they crucified and exalted him to grant repentance and forgiveness. Peter names the Holy Spirit as a witness alongside the apostles to this testimony.
