“But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire.” (Malachi 3:2)
Malachi announces that the LORD will suddenly send his messenger to prepare the way, and that this coming will be a refining fire purifying the sons of Levi. The prophecy anticipates a day when worship will again be pleasing to the LORD, as in former years.
