"Consequently he is able for all time to save those who approach God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:25)
Unlike the many priests who died and had to be replaced, Jesus holds his priesthood permanently because he lives forever, and as a holy and perfect high priest he needs no daily sacrifice, having offered himself once for all.
