Overview & Insights

"My heart exults in the Lord; my strength is exalted in my God." (1 Samuel 2:1)

After dedicating her son Samuel to the Lord, Hannah sings a prayer exalting God who reverses fortunes, raising the poor and humbling the proud. Her song is a close forerunner of Mary's Magnificat.
