Overview & Insights

"Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old." (Psalm 25:6)

This lament asks God to remember his own long mercy rather than the psalmist's sins, and to guard and rescue a life that takes refuge in him. The optional second psalm, 27, makes a parallel appeal from confident trust: 'The LORD is my light and my salvation.'
