Overview & Insights

"A clean heart create for me, O God, and a steadfast spirit renew within me." (Psalm 51:12)

The First Sunday of Lent prays the same psalm as Ash Wednesday, but the season has moved from the ashes of confession to a request for what comes next. Read beside Adam and Eve losing Eden through disobedience, the psalm asks God to remake the one thing the garden could not restore on its own, a clean and steady heart.
