"Look at the proud! Their spirit is not right in them, but the righteous live by their faith." (Habakkuk 2:4)

The prophet complains to God about the violence and injustice he sees going unanswered, then takes his post to watch for God's reply; the answer comes that a vision for the appointed time will surely arrive, and that in the meantime the righteous will live by their faithfulness.
