Overview & Insights

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29)

John the Baptist sees Jesus approaching and identifies him as the Lamb of God, recalling how he watched the Spirit descend on Jesus like a dove and remain. The next day two of John's disciples follow Jesus at his word, and one of them, Andrew, goes and brings his brother Simon, whom Jesus renames Cephas.
