Overview & Insights

"For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1:7)

Writing as though near the end of his life, Paul recalls the sincere faith Timothy inherited from his mother and grandmother, urges him to rekindle the gift of God given through the laying on of hands, and calls him not to be ashamed of the gospel but to join in suffering for it, guarding the treasure entrusted to him through the Holy Spirit.
