"He said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead." (Luke 16:31)
Jesus tells of a rich man who feasted daily while the beggar Lazarus lay hungry at his gate, and of how their fortunes were reversed after death. From torment the rich man begs for warning to his brothers, but is told they already have Moses and the Prophets.
