Psalm 69 turns from lament to praise, confident that God hears the poor and will restore them, offered here as the response to Deuteronomy's promise that God's word is near. The alternate, Psalm 19:8-11, praises the perfect, refreshing law of the Lord that this reading has just described as reachable.
