Overview & Insights

"Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother." (Mark 3:35)

Jesus' family thinks he has lost his mind and scribes charge that he drives out demons by Beelzebul, but he answers that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand and warns against blaspheming the Holy Spirit. He then redraws the boundaries of kinship, naming those who do God's will as his true mother and brothers and sisters.
