"Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16)
Paul calls the church God's field and God's building, with Jesus Christ as the one foundation that no one can replace. Because God's Spirit dwells among them, the community itself is a holy temple, and whoever destroys that temple will answer to God.
