Rufus P. Bucher (1883-1956) was an Old Order Dunker minister, an evangelist, and farmer. He lived in a small town called Unicorn. For 55 years he served in the free ministry as an elder and the pastor of the Mechanic Grove, Pennsylvania, congregation.
In addition, he was the presiding elder of six other congregations, moderator of district meeting ten times, and the Annual Conference in 1946. He served on the district mission board for forty years. The extent of his evangelistic work was impressive — more than 200 series of meetings around the country.
He was also a writer, authoring several books about the gospel, living it, as well as believing in it.
