"Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you" (Jesus to Nathanael). (John 1:48)
“She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me’” (Hagar to God). (Genesis 16:13)
These are just a few of the times in scripture in which human beings have felt “seen” by God!
God saw through the prophets, the irresponsible shepherds, those in dire circumstances, those asking for forgiveness. Through the person of Jesus, God did likewise. The prophecy of Simeon foretold Jesus’ ability to see through the hearts of everyone…
